Harmony Distillery
The distillery is the passion project of husband-and-wife team, Fanie and Marlene Smuts. Years ago, Fanie made an impetuous promise to his girlfriend (now wife) in the hopes that she would say yes to his marriage proposal. This promise was never forgotten and while pregnant with their son, they found the perfect piece of land, surrounded by mountains and with plenty of water, and their dream of living on a farm finally became a reality.
Harmony Honeybush Gin
Fresh, complex floral nose with fynbos honey bush notes combined with hints of citrus zest.Sweet initial taste adds depth to the silky smooth burst of floral and fresh fruit flavours such as peach, orange and grapefruit.Lingering aftertaste of sweet honey complemented by spicy white pepper notes.
AnnexKloof Winery
Annex Kloof Wines is a family project situated in the granite slopes of the beautiful Paardeberg in the Swartland, South Africa on the R45 between Malmesbury and Paarl. The name Annex Kloof has the beautiful and very descriptive meaning of “where the gorges meet” When winemaker, Hugo Basson, is not busy making wine, you will find him in the vineyards alongside brothers Thys and Tobie. Today these three brothers and business associates have 7 sons to follow in their footsteps, but it all started four generations back in 1906, with grandfather Matthys.
In 2005, Hugo who inherited his grandfather’s wine making talent, started making his own wine, building his success with fruity and elegant Red Wines and beautiful Swartland Chenin Blanc. Hugo fell in love with Malbec, after a visit to Argentina in 1991. This was the beginning of a love affair and great success for this Swartland Farmer.
AnnexKloof Malbec 2016
This 100% Malbec with ripe tannins, musky undertones and dark berry flavours has been aged in French Oak for 14 months. Can be enjoyed immediately or aged for 6-8 years, due to the tannin structure. Hugo’s philosophy is “elegant, yet Powerful”, he has definitely succeeded! Alc: 13,2%
